Hi, I'm Diego 👋 I'm an engineer who loves building things that work and understanding why the ones that don't. I've spent over a decade in IT and the last 7 years focused on Cloud Architecture, DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering for environments where uptime is non-negotiable: international airlines, multinational retail, global financial services, and Big Four consulting. Systems processing millions of transactions daily where every technical decision has real business impact.
Beyond the tools, what drives me are the principles: infrastructure as code (IaC), every change is traceable (GitOps), measure what matters (SLOs, Prometheus, Grafana), don't waste money in the cloud (FinOps), and don't repeat work unnecessarily (DRY).
Lately, I'm exploring the intersection between infrastructure and artificial intelligence: MLOps and AI Agents. And this assistant is exactly that: a real project, not a demo. What if instead of sending a PDF, people could actually converse with my experience? That was the idea.
I built it with a RAG system using Qdrant as a vector database and Llama 3.2 as the language model, both self-hosted on my servers running Kubernetes (k3s), deployed with Helm and ArgoCD, provisioned with Terraform, and monitored with Prometheus and Grafana.
Outside of work, I practice kickboxing because I love it and it helps me stay consistent in everything I do. I also keep building projects out of curiosity, like this one.
